Find a need (or something that's not necessary but additive), exploit it, gain recognition, expand, and get more money. that's the basis, but it's easier said than done. try emailing warren buffet or leaving a voice mail
I don't even know what a billionaire is. Is a billion 100 million?
Well, most of us will need 3-5 million to retire comfortably so perhaps a billion isn't so crazy for the run of the mill wealthy person.
Being a billionaire may involve a large inheritance ("coming from money"), being an extremely savvy business person who makes wise investments, or being a super lucky person who got famous by acting or sports or music who makes wise investments or some combo of all of the above.
Being a billionaire takes more than a bunch of zeroes. The world of investments and capital is tumultuous and strange to most "regular folk," but that doesn't mean that there's a barrier to you becoming a billionaire.

2.Start saving money
3.Start an Individual Retirement Account (IRA)
4.Pay off your credit card debt
5.Make a five-year plan.
While almost everyone we interviewed said luck and timing played a role in their success, we found some other similarities in their responses, too. Most of the truly rich, perhaps surprisingly, are not that different from you and me. They have the same fears about their children and their health, and the same desires.
