It's a very big company constantly looking to expand, they have started moving more into the grocery field and have started selling their own house brand products.

Amazon is also a marketplace for countless different businesses which actually deliver the product, some products will say Sold and Shipped by Amazon (from their own warehouses) while other products may be shipped directly from a Chines company.

Because 1) they have several warehouses around the country. 2) they have partner sellers who sell the items and amazon ships them... but they also have individual partners that sell items and they ship them themselves.

They not only have their own products and stock but they also allow other sellers to put items on for sale. Similar to eBay.
