I don't mean owning your own shop or pub I mean a company, a man who owns a holiday house near us has 3 large companies and his wife alone drives a Porsche they're holiday house costs 750k.. He has little English so I cannot ask him but how do people start there own companies?

It is not impossible and you don't to get huge to make very good money. I started a small environmental company 4 years ago, we do $1.8 mil in sales annually and I take home over $400,000/year

Yes

They start small and build up. The guy with a restaurant franchise starts with one restaurant. The guy with the big medical devices company probably started with one product. People don't start big companies, they grow small companies into big companies.
