Ebay administration fees?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
I have just looked on my ebay account and almost half of my 'earnings' have gone to ebay.

Some have gone on things such as relisting and 'buy it now' and some have also gone on postage.

However the majority have gone on admin fees. I was not warned about this deduction and just found out about it while looking on my pay pal history. I was just wondering what this was for and why I had to pay such a large amount to it?

Thanks

Go to My eBay, the account and print out the bill and analyze where you are spending money.

I wait for listing sales before listing. These are generally 50 a month free; no frills. Even then, you will see the listing fee amount before you post and if you didn't mean to pay, don't list.

The final value fee is a given and runs 10%. Paypal fees are given and run 3%. Postage is a given and something you must master. In the USA, we have the ability to either charge for postage seperately or list items with "free postage."

My only wish is that eBay would write a program that notices when the buyer pays via paypal and grab the FVF right then rather than wait a month and then bill the 10%,

I always use an eBay calculator to get an idea of the fees before I post a listing on eBay. It calculates the eBay and PayPal fees. This is the one I use: http://finalfeecalculator.com

There is a lot more info on the ebays forums. Ebay take a cut of the final selling price, the listing , buy it now is expensive , best to start at the price you wish to sell . There are seasoned sellers on forums , who may help you decide what is best to you , if you intend to sell a lot of items.

Thats why ebay is so big, it works on percentages, save by doing minimal listings, not selecting "Bold" type, avoid re-listing, use only the free photo options. Took me a while to catch on, but i am more careful now.!

Go to your eBay account and click on the Account link and see all of your past invoices to get an idea about the charges...duh..
