Being honest on an anonymous employee satisfaction survey?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
A couple of days ago I took an employee satisfaction survey at the retail shop I work at. It was my first time to do this and I was pretty honest as I had problems with the management and how I was feeling about working. They only had statements that you answer with agree or disagree. They said the survey was anonymous but they did have demographic questions at the end. Will I get in trouble for answering honestly?

Unfortunately you may get in trouble because surveys are not anyone's friend . They are designed to cost worker's money . If a manager even suspects you were the one who offered a bad survey that may cost him a bonus then he or she will put you on their hate list . Of course higher management promises that all surveys are confidential but guess what . Lets just say the person in the office who checks the survey has after work drinks with the manager you rolled over on . Yup , they will bury you . I seen it happen everyday for 15 years.

I don't trust surveys. I'll always rate everything and everyone perfect. I do have fun with it at the end and mention I did so for that reason in a comment.

No, you won't. How do you improve the way you run things if people aren't honest in their surveys?

No. Not at all.

no not if it is anonymous.
