USPS Service Alerts
Last updated Mar. 3, 2014, 2:30 p.m. ET
USPS Service Alerts provide information to consumers, small businesses and business mailers about postal facility service disruptions due to weather-related and other natural disasters or events. Service alerts are done in near real time.
Residential customers and small businesses can use this website to learn if mail is being delivered, or if their Post Offices are open. Business mailers are provided more detailed information about USPS mail processing facilities, and the operating status of postal delivery units.
Winter Storm
The Postal Service is closely monitoring the winter storm that began in the Midwest and continues traveling east. The storm brings torrential rain, ice and heavy snow. Customers are asked to clear areas around mail boxes to allow for delivery where it is safe to do so.

They may be taking into account the crazy weather we've been having.
I live near Bay Shore and there are parts of NY and NJ that haven't been getting their mail every day because of the snow. I know there's been a few towns that didn't get mail for 1 or 2 weeks.
But don't forget, it's not just the NE that's been getting bad weather, it's been a good part of the country.
And of course, it may not be flown from NY; it could be going on the USPS trailer, and if that's the case, then it'll take longer.
Bad Weather of course- Snow and Ice storms will >>Stop>> airplanes and Trucks from Delivering Goods
were is it from bc they could be getting hit with snow storms and ice
