Am I going to get in trouble?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
I just got am E-mail saying "Thank you for your purchase!" And it lists MY address. I don't have a credit card... I am 14. What of someone stole a card and is now trying to link it to me?! They have my freakin address and E-mail! Will I get in trouble? This is so stupid. I am super worried, please answer.

Don't worry, it's fine. Don't click any links in the email though just in case. Ask your parents/older siblings if they have ordered anything from that company. They may just have accidently clicked on your email address if their auto fill came up with a list. Even if someone dodgy has your address and email the worst they can do is send you spam, they can't steal from you or anything so it is odd but nothing to worry about.

It may be a scam. Go to the website for the actual store directly. Do not use any link in the email. Find a contact link and give your name and address and ask about it.

Many scammers send that type of email and include a link in it to a spoofed page. They then say if the order was not yours give them your name, address, and credit card number, and they steal it.

Let your parents know about it. Do not just ignore it.

Yes it is spam but please show your mom and dad and then contact the police so they can help you find whoever is doing this to you. Your email address is only linked to your computer if they got your name and address and other personnel information they you need to worry, like we said tell your parents and the police then change your password and remove all you personnel information off here, if you have a cell just use your cell and that is about it I have removed all my information and off here and just use my cell when I need to change my password.

IT's spam. Don't worry about it.

Show and tell your parents. Sooner rather then later. If you wait too long, the package will arrive. UH OH!
